Dear Parents, Hope you all enjoyed the cool weekend! Socktober Kick Off! Dolvin Dolphins, we are collecting new socks this year for those in need. Last year we collected an overwhelming number of socks that went to the Gateway Center in Atlanta (homeless shelter) and the Foster Care Support Foundation in Roswell and they were so appreciative. This year we would like to collect just as many and maybe more!! We will be collecting NEW socks from October 7 through October 25. Please send in children’s sizes as well as adult sizes. Remember…Every pair helps those in need!! (Last year Mr. Bullard’s class collected the most in the whole school!! Would love to repeat as Mrs. Bice and Mrs. Webster’s classes are wanting to dethrone us!) You can buy socks at Aldis or the Dollar Store for a reasonable price. Upcoming Week: October Mindset: We Are Connected Reading: This week we will be working on our rotations and on book clubs. Students have a choice book in class along with their book club book. Read, read, read!!! That’s how we get better at reading! Also, working on text features and structures. Please feel free to have your child do 2-3 nights on I-Ready for 20-30 minutes for great reading skills, covering all 4th grade concepts and standards. Writing: Students have begun learning about informational essays and will choose a topic this week. Grammar: We will work on dictionary and thesaurus skills. *** From now on, I will ask students to keep all worksheets and other notes and review papers in their big binders (reading and lang. sections) to review for quizzes and tests. This will allow you as parents to review with your child if you choose. My website: Bullard5.weebly.com Reminder: 1. ***Register On MySchoolAnywhere: It only takes 2 minutes!
