January 7th-11th
Hello Parents! Happy 2019! I hope you all had a wonderful and restful break. I enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watched new movies, and playing some golf! I hope you enjoyed your time off as well! Topics this week: Reading: We will review where we left off in our book club books! Thank you so much for supporting your child's love of reading by helping them find a copy of their book. It was awesome to come back to the question, "When are we starting up book clubs again?!" We will continue working on comparing themes, topics, and pattern of events in pieces of literature. We will then relate this back to myths, legends, folktales, and fables. This week we are going to read and listen to the story of Pandora's Box and determine the allusions behind what it means to "open up pandora's box." Writing: We will be reviewing their two Write Score Opinion Essays. Write Score has given each student feedback on their essays and students will take the time to compare their two essays, make corrections, and reflect on how they can improve. Grammar: We will begin a new grammar unit this week. First up are Relative Pronouns! We will begin learning about Relative Pronouns on Tuesday. I will pass out a notes sheet and a practice homework assignment for the week! Reminders:
That's all for now! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns by emailing me directly at [email protected]. Have a wonderful week! Mr. Bullard
