Sunday, September 15, 2019 This week: **Great behavior and work! Keep it up!! ** Thank you for the very sweet birthday cards from many students. Thank you for the cards and treats! Grammar: This week we will review using quotation marks correctly with Kahoots, Brainpop, Flocabulary, and Nearpods. A lot more fun way to learn than when I was in school! Lol! Writing: We will continue to work our way through the components of writing good narratives. This week, students will be revising and typing up all 5 paragraphs to their Google Classroom account for a writing test grade. I will conference with each student going over their essays. Reading: We will continue to review information on characters, setting, events of a story, summarizing fiction and nonfiction passages, and making inferences and connections having a test on these at the end of the week. I have an Angry Birds bulletin board showing how many books each student reads. Many have already taken the challenge and are moving their bird across the board. Have a spectacular week! Go Dawgs/Falcons/Braves! David Bullard Dolvin Elementary School [email protected] http://bullard5.weebly.com dolvin4threla.weebly.com (for study notes, posters, videos) 9-9-18 Dear Parents, This week we will be buying books at the book fair. If you would like to have your child buy books, then please make sure to send money with your child. The book fair has many of the children’s book award books to buy. This last week, sign and return papers were sent out. Please sign and return these asap. Students now have begun using Flocabulary, and BrainPop for both classwork assignments and learning videos to review concepts taught in class. The Flocabulary and BrainPop assignments should be completed in class so don’t worry about doing them for homework. However, students can feel free to watch the videos and do any of the other activities at home for fun if they want! Quizzes, essays, and tests will be assigned on these and Google Classroom. Please don’t worry if you are having any trouble getting on these to view, we will get there. Just have your child log in for you. Grades will NOT be impacted if there are any troubles. Feel free to give them feedback on their posts. Topics:

Have a spectacular week and see you Wednesday. Mr. Bullard 4th Grade Teacher Dolvin Elementary [email protected] www.bullard5.weebly.com Follow me on Twitter @dolvinbullard 8-19-19 Dear Parents, We had an awesome first week of school. This past week our class spent time getting to know each other and our class expectations. We talked about our new school wide expectations when it comes to hallways, volume, and shared our hopes and dreams for this year. Feel free to ask your child about our 5 class rules, procedures. Over the next couple of weeks I will be introducing your child to many online resources. I will make sure to include those in our weekly e-mails but may from time to time send a random e-mail just introducing a new resource. Students will have their own Google accounts and will also be getting logins to other resources. When creating a username and password it will make it easiest for your child if you always use their student number as their username and their password either be their birthdate or something else simple that they will always know. J However, if you want to help your child remember their logins there is a place in the front of the agenda where students can be writing this information. Topics:

We made many new friends along the way too. Each of your children has brought such joy and happiness to our classroom. I was so fortunate to have such a wonderful group of children this past year. They all have touched my life this school year in very positive and rewarding ways. I hope as the years go by that they keep in touch. Today’s technology can help us continue the relationships we have built. I encourage and welcome correspondences from you and your children.
